SCHOOL FORMAL COMMITTEE
How much fun to be totally involved in the organization of your school's formal!
It's a huge job but totally rewarding to see it all come together and be the most successful formal ever!
Your year 12 form teacher probably headed last years committee so will have a pretty good idea on what needs to be done. Make sure you clear every decision with administration.

Here's some tips to help along the way.
- Once all the committee members have been chosen, choose people to form sub-committees. Each sub-committee will be responsible for food and beverages, music, decorations, photographer, clean-up etc.
- Set the formal budget.
- Book the function room. This could be at a city hotel or a large restaurant. Check out our Venues in the Directory.
- A schedule of events aka 'run sheet' or programme is required so that everyone from the waiters to the band to the students know what time everything should happen.
- Start fundraising. This is a great way to help keep the ticket price down. What about running a few raffles, a pooch fashion parade, car wash or an x-box challenge.
- How cool to be able to 'Dance Like The Stars'...well, time to get your friends together and start your dance lessons. So click on Dance Studios and you'll have Saturday Night Fever before you know it!
- Book the band or DJ. Check references and/or listen to their CDs. Click here to find cool Entertainers.
- Book the Photographer. Check their portfolio and ask if they have any packages to make the photos more affordable for your fellow students.
- Decide on menu with the function centre.
- Decide on the invitation design. Maybe hold a competition for the art students.
- Start advertising the event about 8 weeks from the formal night. Let students know ticket information, location and of course, about aussieprom.com - the hottest school formal website on the planet!
- Have Invitations, tickets and programmes printed and ready.
- Order Party Decorations like balloons, stramers, "Class of 2007" banners, etc
- 2 weeks to go so confirm everything!
- 2 days to go and re-confirm everything!
- The morning of the formal is for decorating the function room and any last minute decisions.
- Allow plenty of time to get yourself ready and have fun!
