It’s so much fun to be on the School Formal Committee and totally involved in all the planning!!

It’s a huge job for the entire Formal Committee but totally rewarding to see it all come together ? and be the most successful formal ever!

Your year 12 form teacher probably headed the formal committee last year, so will have a pretty good idea on what needs to be done. .. but just make sure you clear every decision with Administration ✅

Follow these School Formal Committee tips to make the whole night perfect:

• Once all the Formal Committee members have been chosen, choose people to form sub-committees. Each sub-committee will be responsible for food and beverages, music, decorations, photographer, clean-up etc.
• ? Set the formal budget.
• Book the function room. This could be at a city hotel or a large restaurant. Check out our Venues in the Aussieprom Directory.
• A schedule of events AKA ‘run sheet’ or program is required so that everyone from the waiters to the band to the students know what time everything should happen.
• Start fundraising. This is a great way to help keep the ticket price down. What about running a few raffles, a pooch fashion parade, car wash or a challenge for the online gamers in your grade.
• How cool to be able to ‘Dance Like The Stars’ … well, time to get your friends together and start your dance lessons ?? ?? ?? ?? … so click on Dance Studios in the Directory and you’ll have Saturday Night Fever before you know it!
• Book the band or DJ. Read their reviews and look for one that lets all of you pick the playlist.
• Book the Photographer. Check their portfolio and ask if they have any packages to make the photos more affordable for your fellow students. Our Directory is a good place to start.
• Decide on menu with the function centre.
• A great idea is to get your School Formal Committee to approach a hot florist to do everyone’s petals … you might be able to get some discount! ?
• Decide on the invitation design. Maybe hold a competition for the art students.
• Start advertising the event about 8 weeks from the formal night. Let students know ticket information, location and that there’s heaps of hot tips on Aussieprom.com
• Have invitations, tickets and programs printed and ready.
• Order Party Decorations like balloons, streamers, “Class of 2018” banners, etc
• 2 weeks to go – confirm everything! ⌛
• ⌛ 2 days to go – re-confirm everything!
• The morning of the formal is for decorating the function room & any last minute decisions.
• Allow plenty of time to get yourself ready and have fun!
